In 2025 the garden at Ulting Wick will be open for the National Garden Scheme on the following dates:
 
Friday 21st of March 10am-4 pm. Time slots each hour for max 20 people. Bookable only via the National Garden Scheme website. 
Sunday the 19th April, 2-5 pm. No pre booking required.
Friday 25th April 2-5pm. No pre booking required.
Wednesday 16th July 2-5pm. No pre booking  required.
Sunday 25th August 2-5pm. No pre booking required.
Friday 5th September 2-5pm. No pre booking required.
 
Please bring CASH for payments as we have poor mobile signal and therefore cannot do cashless payments.

Directions – 3 miles NW of Maldon. Take right hand turning to Ulting off B1019 as you exit Hatfield Peverel after passing the Wheatsheaf pub on your left. Garden on right after 2miles. There will yellow signs on the route for NGS open days as well as a yellow sign at the entrance to the parking on all group visits.
 
Please note that if approaching the garden from the direction of Woodham Walter there is a width restriction on the bridge over the R Chelmer. Coaches will not be able to use this route.

Admission Details 2024:

  • Adults £7.50. Children free. This price does not apply to the Snowdrop and Daffodil pre-booked NGS days.
  • Private groups of 15 or more welcome by appointment. A private guide or talk will be included. We can accommodate one coach at a time. Different admission price for Private Groups.
  • Garden is generally wheelchair-friendly (although some gravel around the house).
  • Home-made afternoon teas and refreshments are served.  Group refreshments by arrangement.
  • In-house propagated plants for sale.
  • Visitors toilet.
  • 25% of all proceeds go to All Saints Church, Ulting – this village church can be walked to from the garden alongside the River Chelmer.
  • Beautiful walks from the garden along the historic Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation. Please ask for directions from one of the team.
